With decent weather returning, a couple of in-street pedestrian signs are needed back in this intersection to remind drivers that they must yield to pedestrians here. Drivers were getting pretty good when the signs were in place last spring, summer, and fall, but their behavior has changed noticeably--for the worse--once they were removed during the winter.

Two In-Road pedestrian signs have been placed at this intersection.
I saw that in-road pedestrian signs have been placed all around Southern Connecticut State University. I saw several there this past weekend.
What's taking these so long?
Yes, I've seen those.
I've always wondered why our state legislators and lobbyists get the protection of signs year-round (as well as 10 MPH speed limits by the LOB), while the elderly, school kids, etc., in our neighborhoods aren't deemed worthy.
I believe there were free standing options next to the LOB and bolted in options on my way to the LOB.
Doug, did you notice if the signs in Hartford were permanent, bolted-in or free-standing?
I cross this intersection almost every day, and cars go speeding right past the crosswalk. Often, I'm yelled at by drivers there when attempting to cross the street.
